Hi Rerry,
Thanks for your update!
>>1. When I ran osql -e -s dellserver\sharepoint I came to a command
window with 1> on it is that correct?
Yes, the result is correct. That indicates you can connect to sharepoint
database.
>>2. I did a search on oledb32.dll and the results are:
>> C:\windows\$ntservicepack\uninstall version2.8.1022.0
>>C:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386\ version 2.82.1830.0
>>C:\program files\common files\system\oledb version 2.82.1830.0
The oledb32.dll version is also correct.
Please try to restart the server, do you get any error info?
For your information, I know you also have monitoring and reporting issue
and ODBC issue. To sort out the root cause I suggest that we try to resolve
sharepoint issue first. Please follow the steps in KB Article 829113 and
remove the Sharepoint Services from CompanyWeb and re-extended them.
How to restore a Windows SharePoint Services CompanyWeb database after the
intranet component and SQL Server or MSDE 2000 have been removed on Windows
Small Business Server
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829113
*Note: Before we begin to troubleshooting the issue, I would like to
suggest you refer to the SBS 2003 backup/restore document to backup server.
For more information regarding the data recovery. you may visit the
document at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=487736f8-f6f5-436d-
a82d-0c8d66e2a634&displaylang=en
Try to test, how about the result? Can you access companyweb again?
If the issue persists, please help me collect some information to further
troubleshooting the issue:
1. Follow the steps below to export IIS metabase and send the files to me:
A. Extract attached MBExplorer.zip and run MBExplorer.msi.
B. Run MBExplorer.exe.
C. Right-click LM and click Export to file.
D. Type a name such as "lm" and click OK.
2. The files in the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL$SHAREPOINT\LOG" folder.
The files in the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL$Monitoring\LOG" folder.
3. Follow the steps below to get error event log:
A. Open Event Viewer: Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools ->
Event Viewer.
B. Right-click on System/Application log and select "Save Log File As?".
Please add all files to a zip file and send to v-yanniw@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I appreciate your time and effort to perform test. I am looking forward to
your reply!
Have a nice day!
Best Regards,
Jenny Wu
