RE: SBS ConnectComputer run from XP workstation on different subnet

Hello Kevan,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

I understand you configure the clients from other subnet to log in the SBS
2K3 server. Your issues are:

a. One client's My Document Folder does not being redirected to the server;

b. One client's User Profile does not appear correctly on the workstation,
it only appears as C:\Documents and Settings, no Username folder followed
by.

If I have misunderstood your issues, please do let me know.

Please see my following suggestions:

1. For the error message you have applied "The local policy does not allow
you to login interactively", please make sure that the problematic client
account is listed in the local administrator account.

To do so, please go to the workstation that problematic client is trying to
access, Control Panel -> User Profiles -> Users tab, click Add to add the
problematic client account. Click Properties, in the Group Membership tab,
grant Administrators level of access to this client.

2. Regarding the folder redirection issue, please go to server, open a
command window, run "gpresult /v >c:\gp.txt" (without quotation marks), go
to c drive, get the gp.txt file, and paste the full content of the log to
the Newsgroup.

On the problematic client workstation, open a command window, run "gpresult
/v >c:\gp.txt" (without quotation marks), go to c drive, get the gp.txt
file, and paste the full content of the log to the Newsgroup.

3. We cannot use add computer wizard twice with two different account.
Regarding the local profile on the workstation, a migration scenario could
apply. Please refer to the steps in the following KB article for detail
steps:

How to restore a user profile in Windows 2000

I am appreciated your time and cooperation. If anything is unclear, please
feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to your reply!

Best regards,

Brandy Nee
