Sharpoint Error in SBS 2003

I am running sharepoint services on Small Business Server 2003 standard
edition. Had a crash 2 weeks ago and am getting the error: Cannot connect to
the configuration database. In the application event viewer I get lots on
1000 errors. I can access the virtual server saettings but do not have the
default company web site. I also cannot get the monitoring and reports to
run. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
