Re: SBS2K3 and 2003 term server problem since SP1 upgrade

Hi,

Thanks for updates.

>From your description, it seems you could not even RDP to external NIC of
the TS box, that prove in SBS side we have no restriction on this issue.
1. We have ISA 2004 only configure the internal NIC of TS box, we make no
configuration on external NIC of TS box.
2. What I mean to remove external NIC of TS box not the SBS external NIC. I
am sorry for not clear about that.
3. As you set the router to be DHCP for remote access, so you need to make
sure that router is configured correctly, you can check if you can RDP to
TS box external NIC with IP address?
4. Can you try to see if you can ping TS box with both IP and computer name
from remote client computer after setting up VPN connections.
5. Please also run telnet IP address of external NIC of TS box
to see the results. telnet ip address of external nic 3389. Please also
tell us the detailed error messages you encountered when you could not
establish RDP connections.

I will be here waiting for your updates. Please feel free to let me know. I
am glad to help you.

Best regards,

Charles Yang (MSFT)

| Charles,
| Appologies for not making myself very clear..
|
| SBS box can definitely RDP to internal and external NIC of TS box as
| can anything on the lan. No problems
|
| Can connect a client directly to the router and (with an IP change of
| coures as it is a 10. subnet) can rdp to the external interface of the
| ts box.
|
| I don't understand your instruction about removing the ts box ext nic
| and moving ot back inside the domain. Isn't the int nic of the TS box
| already inside the domain? How do I get ISA to control the ext NIC of
| the TS box?
|
| Bare in mind that the only thing that changed in my setup to stop it
| working is the ISA2004/SP1 bit. all other factors, including wiring
| and IP addressing remain unchanged.
|
| I have not done one thing as per your previous post. That is to
| exclude the ext nic of the SBS box from RDP as that is my only access
| to the LAN from the remote site at the moment. If I remove that I have
| to drive 100 Klms to make any changes.
|
| Looking forward to your reply.
