Dear Tammy:
Thank you for posting here.
I understand this performance issue has brought you a lot of inconvenience.
Since it's a somewhat complex issue to troubleshoot, please help me gather
the following information in order to narrow down this issue:
1. Go to an internal client, try connecting to SBS box via RWW portal and
then establish the RDP session, does this performance issue persist?
2. On the SBS Server, type http://localhost/remote and then try the RDP
session, any luck?
3 Does this issue occur when you connect to RWW using an admin account?
4 Please temporarily place a client computer directly connected to the
external NIC of the SBS Server. You can connect the external network
adapter of the SBS Server to a simple hub and connect the client to the
same hub. Manually configure the TCP/IP settings on the client computer to
be on the same subnet as the external network adapter of the SBS Server.
Then try the RWW connection again and see if the performance issue persists?
Thank you for your time and understanding.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to let me know if you
have any questions or concerns.
Have a nice weekend! :)
Best Regards
Edward Tian(MSFT)

| Hello all,
|
| I posted this question a few days ago and Les was kind enough to respond
but
| I am still having problems and thought I'd try posting the question again.
|
| Basically we have a remote user connecting to our SB2003 server. She has
| been doing this for the last 3 months without any problems. It's only
been
| since apprx 2 weeks ago that she's noticed an incredible decrease in
| performance.
|
| I am totally stumped as to what is causing this and if anyone has any
other
| suggestions/things for me to check I'd be so grateful!
|
| Testing done so far:
|
| 1) have verified no problem with ISP/Internet connectivity at both ends
| 2) verified no problem with computer in office being connected - she
also
| tried other PC's in office with same results
| 3) see no errors on SBS server...in Event Log...processor/memory usage
| looks fine...have the latest security updates on server...ran a
| defrag...basically the server looks fine from what I can tell and I'm on
it
| everyay without any problems - via RDP...also nothing has been changed on
it
| the last few weeks
| 4) verified no problems on remote user's computer as this problem has
also
| happened on a different remote computer
| 5) had user change connection speed to 28.8 when logging in RWW - no
| difference
|
| The performance will be fine when the user first connects to her office
| computer via RWW and then as she's working the performance tends to
| progressively slowdown.
|
| Again if anyone has any other places that I can check that would be great!
|
| Thanks!
| Tammy
