RE: Update Outlook

Hi Johnfli,

Thank you for your reply.

To narrow down this issue, please help me collect the below information:

1. Did you use the Add User Wizard to add these user accounts? If so,
please open Server management console, go to Advanced Management -> Active
Directory Users and Computers -> Domain Name -> MyBusiness -> Users ->
SBSUsers, can you find these users in this OU container?

2. Did you use the Set Up Client Computers wizard or Add User Wizard to
add these client computers? If so, please open Server management console,
go to Advanced Management -> Active Directory Users and Computers -> Domain
Name -> MyBusiness -> Computers -> SBSComputers, can you find these
computers in this OU container?

3. Did you use the http://SBSServerName/connectcomputer link to join these
client computers into the SBS domain?

4. Please open Server management console, point to Users, in the right
pane, right-click the problematic user account and select Properties, in
the dialog box, click Profile tab, check if there is SBS_LOGIN_SCRIPT.bat
in the Logon script box.

5. Please re-run the Assign Applications Wizard to assign the Outlook 2003
to the client computer, and then use the appropriate user account to logon
the SBS domain, does there have a dialog window prompt you install the
Outlook 2003 software? If not, what OS is running on the Problematic
computer? What earlier version of Outlook is installed on the Problematic
computer? Please check if the current user account is a member of the local
Administrator Group, if so, please manually uninstall the earlier version
of Outlook, and then logoff and logon, what's the result?

6. Please locate the apps.dat file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows
Small Business Server\ClientSetup\Clients\response\ComputerName folder on
the SBS 2003 Server, you can use the Notepad to open it, and copy the all
contents of it and paste it in your reply. Note: Where ComputerName is one
of these problematic computers.

7. Please also locate the SBSClientApps.log file from C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Clients folder on the above
appropriate problematic computer, and paste the contents of it in your
reply.

I am appreciated your time and cooperation. If anything is unclear, please
feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Nathan Liu (MSFT)
