Hello:
Thank you for posting here.
>From your description, I understand that you can't access RWW and received
a 403 error. If I am off base, please feel free to let me know.
I recommend that you run CEICW wizard first on the SBS server, make sure
that SBS network is configured correctly, you can refer to following KB
article for detailed information (Please make sure ''Remote Web Workplace''
options are selected In the Web Services Configuration page):
825763 How to configure Internet access in Windows Small Business Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=825763
Then, please type https://localhost/remote on your SBS server, if it
doesn't work, I think the specified virtual directory may be corrupted,we
may need to reinstall the component. RWW is always installed as part of the
Server Tools, and it will not be listed as one of the components in setup.
You can do the following steps:
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
2. Select Windows Small Business Server 2003 and then click Change/Remove.
The Setup Wizard appears.
3. Click Next to start the wizard.
4. On the Windows Configuration page, click Next.
5. On the "Component Selection" page, choose Maintenance for "Server
Tools", and then choose Reinstall for "Intranet" and "Administration".
6. On the Component Summary page, click Next.
7. Click Finish.
After above steps, please try to access https://localhost/remote again and
let me know the result.
Thanks for you time and effort. I look forward to your reply.
Have a nice day! :)
Best Regards
Edward Tian(MSFT)

| I'm not sure what triggered this, it may have happened after SBS 2003 SP1
| install but not sure.
|
| The symptom is go to https://servername/remote
| I get a 403 error You might not have permission to view this directory or
| page using the credentials you supplied
|
| https://servername/exchange and /oma and /tsweb all work.
|
| Upon investigation in IIS I discovered that in the default web site /
remote
| only contains two files msrdp.cab and sbspackage.exe this doesn't seem
right
| to me.
| Also, if I right click on the remote folder and select browse I get the
same
| 403 error with the exception of localhost listed rather than the full
domain
| name as you would get from the outside.
|
| It seems I need to reinstall the remote web site. Any pointers on how to
do
| this?
|
| Thanks
