| Wuzzup,
| If you want to implement a login script there are 2 basic ways you
can
| get it done:
| 1) Write a script (batch or vbscript to be safe) and save it in the
| "\\<domainname>\sysvol\<domainname>\scripts" directory. Deploy it to
| individual users using the "profile" tab of the user account via the
"logon
| script" field. To do this, right-click the user account, click
properties,
| select the profile tab, type the name of your script in the "logon
script"
| field. This way isn't too bad if you only have a few users in the domain.
|
| 2) Write a script (batch or vbscript to be safe) and save it in the
| "\\<domainname>\sysvol\<domainname>\scripts" directory. Create a GPO for
your
| logon script and link it to the OU with your targeted user accounts. Edit
the
| GPO by double-clicking the "User Configuration\Windows
| Settings\Scripts\Logon" object, click "add" and then browse to your
script to
| add it to the GPO. Ensure the "Apply Group Policy" permission is enabled
on
| the group that you want affected by the GPO. If you are targeting all
users
| in the OU make sure that the permission is set for "Authenticated Users".
The
| policy will apply to this group by default, so uncheck it if you do not
want
| to apply your script to all users in the linked OU. Applying the script
this
| way is more scalable b/c you don't have to open a billion user objects if
you
| decide to use a new script, reorganize the users you want impacted by the
| script, or even just change the script location.
|
| Good luck
