Re: exclude servers from my documents re-direction

This is the part where I say dutifully note that you shouldn't use an
everyday user account to administer your servers. Now that I have mentioned
that, I will say something like 98% of all NT administrators do it, so don't
be all down on yourself :)

You really have 2 practical options as I see it:

1) Create a second account for yourself i.e. username-admin, create an
administrative OU or leave it in the default "Users" OU so that it doesn't
process Group Policy (the default "Users" and "Computers" containers aren't
actually OU's and you can't apply GPO's on them).

2) Create a set of administrative MMC shortcuts that use the RUNAS parameter
and reference the username-admin account

In practice I use a mix of both techniques, as consultant I often require
Domain Administrative privileges to do some of my work, so I recommend the
creation of a regular user account and a special administrative account so
that we can audit for any changes I may make. I also do it in our own domain
(practice what you preach I say). Yes, it does make it initially a little
more cumbersome to work but you get used to it quickly and you won't notice
it in a week. I also use a lot of the cmd line tools in Windows and most of
them support specifying alternate credentials, cmd line will beat GUI for
speed any day of the week but again I digress...
