Q1. Does the issue happen when you open RWW site through internet
(http://serverFQDN/remote)?
A1. RWW is hosted on the current production server and I can't seem to
access RWW via the IP of my CRM server.
Q2. Does the issue happen when you load the CRM sites through internet using
server external IP address (http://xx.xx.xx.xx/xx)?
A2. Can't load the sites using crm/xx.xx.xx.xx or similar variations for
either site.
Q3. Try to use Firefox to open the web page, how about the result?
A3. Yeah, I know Firefox is amazing and all but you microsoft guys don't
support firefox for crm (unsupported browser version) But the project site
seems to load fine and refreshes more quickly. Maybe this an IE issue after
all... Sometimes, in IE, when i refresh my project site (which is a
sharepoint team site) the theme goes back to its default colors. Another
refresh goes back to the theme I set up. Sometimes I can refresh the page in
firefox a couple dozen times before it refreshes in IE even once. Sometimes
IE refreshes the project site quickly, sometimes it takes a minute. But
there is latency in firefox too at times, and I notice that up 95ms delay in
continuous pings to crm.domain.com. None of the pings time out though.
Q4. Does the issue happen from any internet computers? Change to other PCs
to try.
A4. Already tried this on several external PCs, no luck.
Q5. Do you find any error event logs in Event Viewer? If so, give me detail
info.
A5. Nope, the logs are actually very clean. No events, even informational
seem to be logged that could indicate a reason for this.
Q6. How you publish the CRM websites? Did you enable SSL listeners? If you
enabled SSL listeners, you need to configure a server certificate.
A6. These two sites aren't using SSL.
Q7. For the error code, the issue should be related with ISA
configuration. I
suggest that you reconfigure the both sites in ISA 2004 to try to resolve
the issue.
A7. I've tried changing the rule settings and moving the rules to the top
of the firewall policy (this actually solved a similar issue for me once) but
still no luck. I seemed to get better results when I changed the to portion
of the rule to my internal IP rather than servername.domain.local
Q8. Please check following KB article to ensure you have published the
websites
correctly.
How To Configure the Web Publishing Service to Work with Internet Security
and Acceleration Server in Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;323426
A8. Already have rules, and url sets set up and I'm using the SBS web
listener for these two sites. That link was ISA 2000. 2004 has a much
different interface so its a bit tough to follow those steps.
Q10. How about the result? If the issue persists, please rename the
web.config
file under the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot folder to web.config.old file, then try
again to see if there is an update.
A10. There isn't a web.config file under wwwroot. There are web.config
files under most other sites, including CRM. Renaming the project and crm
web.config didn't do much except for break my crm site, so I restored the
filenames.
Q11. And also I would like to collect some information to do further
troubleshooting:
A11. I will send you an email with the logs and IP address details shortly.
Btw, thanks for using ' ' single quotes. They show up normally in firefox.
Double quotes in these newsgroups mess with the formatting in firefox.
