I think it's on page 57 that I show what I did.

Okay, so I've tried to get WSUS setup and running since it was
officially released a couple of months ago. I couldn't get it to
detect any of our computers. So, I've left it alone (I was
completely frustrated and irritated...basically, I didn't want to
deal with it.).
I'm tired of having to update each computer manually, and tried to
get this working. I still can't. I have downloaded and printed the
"Step-by-Step Guide to Getting Started with Microsoft Windows Server
Update Services." It says it's step-by-step, but they lied. :)
I got to step five (I've installed the WSUS software and have
syncronized it.). At this point it assumes the installer (me) knows
how, where, and what to do as far as creating a new GPO setting for
WSUS. However, I do not. The old SUS actually walked me through the
step-by-step setup part of that, and I haven't the least idea how to
do it. Not that I haven't tried. I have, and it is just making me
more frustrated because I feel I looked everywhere.
So, what I need some help with is step 5. There are some old GPO
settings from SUS in Group Policy Management. So, I don't know if
those are sufficient, if they need to be modified, deleted, or what?
Basically, step five tells me this:
* Load the WSUS Administrative Template
* Configure Automatic Updates
* Point client computers to your WSUS server
* Manually initiate detection on the client computer
Those steps are all bulleted as I've listed them from the
step-by-step setup guide. I need to know how to:
1) create a new GPO for WSUS settings and link the GPO on the domain
level
2) perform the bullet points listed above.
What are the steps to do this?
It looks like the last step of adding the WSUS Administrative
Template has a step-by-step. So, It's just the above with which I
need help.
I greatly appreciate it!
