Hi Tibor,

Thanks for your post.

Based on you description, your issue is really weird for us. To make sure
the situation of the issue before we decide our troubleshooting direction,
could you please help me collect the following information first:

1. When did this issue start to happen? What change have you made before
the issue happening?

2. How often does this issue happen?

3. You mentioned that you "get an error message" during the installation of
SP1, what is the exact error message?

4. What is the exact error message when you fail to access server
management?

5. Will the issue persist if you disconnect the server from any networks?

Please send me the application event logs, system event logs and security
evnet logs in format of .evt. My email address is v-jerryz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

To perform a clean boot, follow the steps below:

A. Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks)
and click OK.
B. Select "Selective Startup" and remove the check box for "Load Startup
Items".
C. On the "Services" tab, click Enable All.

F. Try again.

Also try to reboot the SBS in safe mode:

1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On
a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems,
you can press the F8 key when you see the Boot Menu.
2. In "Windows Advanced Option Menu", use the arrow keys to select Safe
Mode, and then press ENTER.
3. If you are running other operating systems on the computer, click
Microsoft Windows on the list that is displayed and then press ENTER.

If you have any concern on this thread, I am glad to be of further
assistance. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Jerry Zhao (MSFT)
