Hi Dave,
How are you doing? Do you have chance to perform test and found the root
cause?
Thanks for Alex's kindly knowledge sharing! Based on my research, I think
your issue is very similar with the known issue described in the KB
article. Please refer to get detail information:
You receive a "The event log file is corrupt" error on a computer that is
running Windows Server 2003 SP1, an x64-based version of Windows Server
2003, or Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;899416
I suggest you contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the
hotfix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services telephone
numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft
Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support
(http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support)
Note: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for
the specific update in question.
If you have any further question or concern on the issue please feel free
to let me know. I am looking forward to your reply!
Have a nice day!
Best Regards,
Jenny Wu
