Hi Rmitteness,
Thank you for your detailed reply.
Let's first resolve the issue of the RWW access from external, and
configure the problematic Outlook client to connect Exchange mailbox using
RPC over HTTP, and then check if the issue can be reproduced. To do so,
please refer to the below information:
Step 1. Re-run the CEICW:
=================
a. On the SBS 2003 Server open the Server Management console. Go to
Standard Management\To Do List.
b. Click the "Connect to the Internet" link.
c. Choose not to change the connection type and click Next. On the
Firewall page, select "Enable firewall" and click Next (I suppose you have
2 network adapters in SBS 2003 and if you only have 1 network adapter you
will not see the firewall page and you can go to step 6).
d. On the "Services Configuration" page, select all items and then click
Next.
e. On the "Web Services Configuration" page, select "Remote Web
Workplace" and other web sites that you want to publish to the Internet.
Click Next.
f. On the "Web Server Certificate" page, choose to create a new Web
server certificate and then type the public FQDN that you will use to
access your server. Consider your current condition, you need to type the
Public (Real) IP address of the SBS Server, if the SBS Server's external
NIC is connecting with a Router/DSL modem/Firewall, you need to type the
Public (Real) IP address of the Router/DSL modem/Firewall, and then
configure the Router/DSL modem/Firewall forward TCP port 4125, 80, 443,
etc. to the SBS external NIC.
g. Go through the remaining steps. Then check if the issue disappears.
Step 2. Configure the problematic Outlook client to connect Exchange
mailbox using RPC over HTTP
==============================================================
a. On the problematic workstation, logon the workstation with the domain
account through VPN connection, use the https://Router_Public_IP/remote
link to access the RWW on the SBS 2003 Server.
b. After logon, please click "Configure Outlook via the Internet" link to
view the detailed steps to configure the problematic Outlook client to
connect Exchange mailbox using RPC over HTTP.
c. Please check if the issue can be reproduced.
If the issue persists, since this issue only occurs on one user, we
strongly suggest you refer to my previous reply to create a new email
profile to narrow down this issue, thanks for your cooperate.
I am appreciated your time and cooperation. If anything is unclear, please
feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Nathan Liu (MSFT)
