Hello Aart,
Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.
Thanks a lot for Chad's input!
I understand that you have two domains, Domain A has SBS 2K server
installed, and Domain B has three clients. Both of the domains use the same
email domain. You want to know how to let these three clients to receive
emails from domain A. If I have misunderstood you, please let me know.
>From the information you have applied, I do not have a clear idea what your
exact network topology it is. Do you have ISA server installed in these
domains, what is the server installed in domain B, exchange server or SBS
server?
My suggestion is to enable POP3 service on the SBS 2K in domain A, and
configure POP3 connector or Outlook in domain B depend on whether there is
SBS server installed. Please take your time and see my following general
information:
First of all, you need to make sure that you have enabled the POP3 service
on the SBS 2K server in domain A. To do so, please see:
a. Go to the SBS 2K server, Start -> Programs -> Microsoft Exchange ->
System Manager.
b. Expand to Servers\Yourdomain\Protocols\POP3. Make sure that Default POP3
Virtual Server is enabled. If it is not enabled, please right click it and
select Start.
[Note]: On the SBS 2K3 server, by default Default POP3 Virtual Server is
disabled.
c. Rerun the ICW (Small Business Server Console\Small Business Server
(BackOffice Manager)\To Do List\Internet Connection Wizard).
1> If you have another SBS server installed in Domain B, you need to
configure POP3 connector on this SBS server. Then the three clients can
receive the POP3 emails through POP3 connector. To do so, please see:
a. Open Exchange System Manager, expand to Connectors\Connector for POP3
Mailboxes.
b. Right click Connector for POP3 Mailboxes, go to Properties.
c. Go to User Mailboxes tab, Add these three clients' mailboxes.
2> If you do not have SBS server in domain B. You can configure these three
clients' Outlook and then they still can receive the POP3 emails. To do so,
please see:
a. Open Outlook, go to Tools -> E-mail Accounts.
b. Select View or change existing e-mail accounts. Click Next.
c. Click Add. Select POP3.
d. Proceed to the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) page, input the User,
Server and Logon Information in the blanks.
e. Click Finish.
Hope this information helps. If anything is unclear, please feel free to
let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Brandy Nee
