RE: Internet connection via 2nd network card without ISA

Hello Bibgo,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

Thanks a lot for Luke's input!

>From your description, I cannot complete understand "share an internet
connection". Please see my following information:

1. What is your Network Topology? For example:

{Internet} {Router} {NIC} {SBS} {NIC} {Internal Clients}

2. Please explain in detail what exact "internet connection" you want to
share.

3. If your concern is to configure your domain users to access the Internet
without ISA server, you can refer to the following KB article to run the
Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard for detailed steps. The
CEICW wizard will automatically configure RRAS to perform the NAT function.

[Note]: When you proceed to the Firewall page, please select Enable
Firewall to secure your Network.

4. If your concern is to configure the Internet Connection Sharing. Please
see:

ICS is not installed on SBS 2003 and it is not recommended to use ICS on
any client computer. Instead, SBS uses the Routing and Remote Access
service (or ISA, if installed), which includes the same functionality.
Running the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard (CEICW) from
the To-Do list or the Server Management console will set up your server to
share the Internet connection and will give you all the functionality of
ICS (and then some).

Hope this information helps. If anything is unclear, please feel free to
let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

Brandy Nee
