RE: WSUS error

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for your updating.

>From your detailed description, I would suggest you post it in the
microsoft.public.windows.server.update_services newsgroup. The reason why
we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool
of respondents, and other partners who read the newsgroups regularly can
either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

Your understanding is highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Crina Li (MSFT)

| After I posted my reply I decided to check my WSUS console again.
|
| It now sees 6 computers which are all the PCs directly connected to the
| network. I have it set via GPO to detect and schedule updates daily.
|
| I can see that there are three computers that need multiple updates
though
| only one of them have been notified that updates are ready. I have it set
to
| schedule the install (see below) so I am not sure why those computers are
not
| updating.
|
| I also forgot to list my GPO settings. Here are all of the GPO settings
for
| my WSUS policy:
|
|
| Do not display "install Updates and Shut Down..." option: Not Configured
| Do not adjust default option to Install Updates and Shut Down...": Not
| Configured
| Configure Automatic Updates: Enabled, 4. Auto download and schedule
| installation, 0- every day, 8:00
| Speicfy Intranet Microsoft Update Service Location: Enabled, both set to
| http://server:8530
| Enable Client-side targeting: Enabled, unassigned computers (I switch to
| manage computers in the interface and put them in the group necessary
after
| they show up in the console- this is what I did with the WUS beta when I
| tested it and is my preferred practice).
| Reschedule Automatic Updates scheduled Installations: Enabled, wait 5
minutes
| No auto-restart...: enabled
| Automatic updates detection Frequency: Enabled, 22 hours
| Allow Automatic Updates immediate installation: Enabled
| Delay Restart for scheduled Installations: Not configured
| Re-prompt for restart with scheduled installations: Not configured
| Allow non-admins to recive update noticfications: Not configured
