games on XP client running 2003 server (UT2004)

Hello,
I am running a SBS2003 server with windows XP pro clients.
I am running a game called unreal tournement 2004 on my XP pro machines
however when I try to connect internet to play a game I can not see the other
external game servers whilst in the game however I can ping the IP addresses
from command prompt and get a response.
is this a firewall problem or is there some sort of port blocking on SBS
2003 ?
note no games are run on the SBS 2003 server itself just the XP Clients.
