do yourself a favour and restart that box in Directory Services Restore
Mode.

DSRM loads most windows components, in particular allowing the changed
hardware to be detected without loading AD (which is probably what's causing
the slow boot time).

While in DSRM mode ensure the drivers for the NICs are loaded correctly and
then ensure the NIC configuration is as expected by AD, slow boot of 2000 or
later is almost always due to misconfigured networking and in a 'changed
hardware' situation your NICs are almost certainly miscofigured.

Start in DSRM, let it sit for a while to allow hardware detection. Restart
in DSRM and let it sit again, just in case it detects other changes. Restart
in DSRM and let it sit again, keep doing so until it doesn't recognise any
further changes and then restart in DSRM one more time to make sure. Ensure
you have one NIC configured correctly for the 'internal' network. Restart
normally.
