Thank you for your update! Your effort and time are really appreciated!
Regarding your first question from the latest reply, have you tried
manually creating a VPN connection? In this way, we can change to use the
local gateway instead of the remote gateway.
For you convenience, I attach the steps:
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet
Connections, and then click Network Connections.
2. Click Create a new connection, and then click Next.
3. Click Connect to the network at my workplace, and then click Next.
4. Click Virtual Private Network connection, and then click Next.
5. Type a descriptive name for your company, and then click Next.
6. Click Do not dial the initial connection, and then click Next.
7. Type the host name or IP address of the computer where you are
connecting, and then click Next.
8. Use one of the following methods:
Click Anyone's use if you want to share the connection with all users.
Click My use only if you do not want to share the connection.
9. Click Next, and then click Finish.
Then manually configure this connection not to use the default remote
gateway.
1). Double-click My Computer, and then click the Network and Dial-up
Connections link.
2). Right-click the VPN connection that you want to change, and then click
Properties.
3). Click the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the
'Components checked are used by this connection' list, and then click
Properties.
4). Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Use default gateway on
remote network check box.
5). Click OK, click OK, and then click OK.
Then both your internet connection and VPN connection should be working
normally.
Regarding your second question (access share folder):
If the problem persists after you have performed the above steps
SUCCESSFULLY, we may need to gather the following information:
1. Can the remote computer access the shares via \\<the IP address of the
local computer>\sharename ?
2. Can you ping the local computer by computername and IP address?
3. Have you installed any anti-virus software on the client? Temporarily
disable it and see if the problem persists.
4. After the VPN connection is established, please type ipconfig /all on
both the server side and remote computer side.
5. After the VPN connection is established, please type route print on the
remote client side.
