Thanks for your reply.

I think it may be some group policys you have set override the "Exception"
setting. You may check as following:

1. Open Server Management, and then expand Advanced Management | Group
Policy Management | Forest | Domains | Server name.
2. Right click Default Domain Policy and select Edit.
3. In Group Policy Object Editor, expand User Configuration | Windows
Settings | Internet Explorer Maintenance.
4. Click Connection and then double click Proxy Settings.
5. Check if you have enabled the proxy settings.
6. You may also add the web sites which you want to bypass the proxy to the
Exceptions.
7. Test again to see if the problem can be solved.

be
| put in each time I want to bypass the proxy for that web address? I'm
| thinking that maybe my server overrides my manually typed in proxy
settings
