Hi Paul,
Thanks for updates.
>From your description, it seems the third part backup exec create the VSS
files, we are also not familiar with this software, as I know if we use
backup program on SBS server, it will run also use VSS to backup some
shared folder, but we can point a place to store the VSS files. So you
might have to contact with that software vendor for further assistance.
Please also suggest you customer applied the hotfix I referred to, it had
resolved many known issue on VSS and SBS backup.
I appreciate your understanding. If you have any further concerns, please
feel free to let me know. I will be here waiting for your updates.

| Hello Charles,
| Thank you for your response.
| I visited my customer.
| First we did not yet apply the hotfix.
| Second we enabled shadowcopy on C:. Then disabled it and it gave a
message
| that the data could not be deleted because it was possibly in use by
backup.
| The customer runs BackUpExec 10 for SBS. I stopped that and after
disabling
| again and after some time the files were deleted.
| This morning after BackUpExec backed up the system no new files were
written
| on C:.
|
| When I looked in the files on the System Volume Information folder they
were
| all created at 11PM, the time the backups start. So there is a
relationship
| with BackUpExec somewhere. Why it started creating those VSS files a few
| weeks ago is not clear to me.
