I can confirm that the reason why my SBS box has been hanging is due to the
APC Powerchute software. I restarted the box in safe mode and disabled the
APC Services: "APC PBE Agent" and "APC PBE Server". Did a restart in normal
mode and SBS loaded no problems. I then uninstalled all of the APC software
that existing on the system, rebooted to ensure that things were still ok,
and then installed the latest version 7.0.4 of the PowerChute Business
Edition software. Again, restarted SBS to check that I would not get the same
problem and found that everything ran smoothly, no hangs, logged straight in.
If you run Powerchute Business Edition version 6.x.x then you need to
upgrade to version 7.0.4. Here is the link:
