RE: Client App Outlook 2003 SP1?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Good Morning Mr. Zhao,

Thank You for your help, as I delve into this a bit more I find there are
other issues that are the more likely reason for this problem.

Some background-
I had a successful SBS SP1 install with everything working. I tried out my
CRM promotional package and had a more or less successfull install. Except,
after changing the run-as users because of the MS Baseline Security Analyzer,
I ended up with KDC errors. I then uninstalled CRM and SQL. Continuing to
track down KDC errors I uninstalled SBS SP1. Of course now things are wonky.

I managed to get Admin Tool working, but now when I run set-up, I now see a
screen that asks for the license code. Unfortunately here I have made I
think a significant error. When I was prompted for the license I entered
the one that worked, (I have three) which is my retail copy and was accepted.
However, when I try to re-install the SBS SP1, I get a set-up statement that
I may not upgrade this copy of SBS to OEM. I think this is the reason I
cannot install clientapps, and I think my SBS installation has a registration
problem.

I am not quite sure where to go with this now, the basic SBS functionality
is working pretty well, Sharepoint, RWW, OWA, email, etc. The only problem
is that I cannot now join a new client with myserver/connectcomputer. The
client states that the required files are not there, ( I do get the correct
connectcomputer screen though)

Also, when I have run the SBS Setup the folder Inetpub gets put in a strange
place, on the drive I ran the setup from rather than the system drive. I
have also seen a folder of Small Business Server appear on the drive that the
install was run from. This is the drive that I had extracted the SP1 files
from and made a folder for. SHeesh.

Thanks for any Help,

Sincerely,
E. Palmer
