RE: Client App Outlook 2003 SP1?

Hi Palmer,

Thanks for your post.

>From the description, I understand that your issue is that when you try to
reinstall the client application, you are asked of the installation files
for IE6 and outlook 2003 SP1. If I'm off base, please let me know.

Actually, the outlook 2003 for the SBS has some difference with normal
outlook 2003. So we can not use the web downloaded normal outlook 2003 SP1
for SBS.

To get the files, you can extract the SBS2003-KB885918-SP1-X86-ENU.EXE that
is under the SBS03_SP1 in the second CD of the SBS SP1 discs.

To extract the SBS2003-KB885918-SP1-X86-ENU.EXE without starting the
installation program:

1. Type "path\filename /x"(without quotation marks) at a command prompt.

2. In the Choose Directory For Extracted Files box, type the full path of
the folder into which you want to extract the files.

NOTE: Do not extract the files into the %SystemRoot% or
%SystemRoot%\System32 folder.

3. Click OK, and then click OK.

Note: we can also use Winzip or WinRar to extract files from the service
pack file.

Then, check the extracted folder, you can find the file office2003_sp1.msp
under \cd4\sbs\clientapps\outlook11_sp1

As for the IE installation files, you can insert the disc 3 of the SBS
installation CDs, locate to SBS\CLIENTAPPS\IE6\.

If there is anything else that I can do for you, please feel free to
contact me, and I will be happy to help!

Best regards,

Jerry Zhao (MSFT)
