It's really impossible for anyone to know how much of the scripted install
you *didn't* follow, therefore my best advice would be to chalk this up to
experience and start over. Don't view it as a wasted effort, but rather the
first of 3 or 4 installations, where the 3rd or 4th is a keeper as a result
of the experience you gain in the preceeding ones.
I'd sugggest a soho router between that external nic and the internet.
Strongly suggest, that is.
Probably a little bit of reading as well, such as why dot local is preferred
over dot com, and how to configure your network so DNS works. I'm suspecting
you may have changed the server IP at some point (manually).
This could likely be fiddled with and fixed, but that will take days in a
newsgroup setting. I don't have that kind of time just now - perhaps someone
else does, though.
