Re: Cannot get IMAP to work

Bill,

Thank you so much for the help on this problem. Turning on the logging
enabled me to find this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;296387. Although it
is for the POP3 service, the problem was identical.

I used the second resolution method, because the names did NOT match:

Verify that the Mailbox Alias value and the User Logon Name (Pre-Windows
2000) value match (if they do not, change them so that they do match): 1. In
Active Directory Users and Computers, right-click the user account that you
want to modify, and then click Properties.
2. On the Account tab, note the value in the User Logon Name
(PreWindows 2000) box, which is the logon name or the samAccountName
attribute.
3. On the Exchange General tab, note the value in the Alias box, which
is the mailbox alias or the mailNickName attribute

All names match, and accounts now work!

THANK YOU!

Gregg Hill
