Maximum number of users in SBS2003?

The question is really simple. Is there one? I know the OS was built for up to, say 50 users, but is it theoratically possible to add 500 users?

I have the following situation. We want to give all of our customers a mail address and OWA so that they can check their email on the local server. Our experience is that users check this account about 1 time per month and it will only accept text message, no big attachments etc. The hardware can take this kind of traffic and storage but can I create 500 users on SBS 2003? They will never use the rest of the network. It's just for creating a mailaccount.

Thanks in advance.
