RE: Exchange 2003 and timeout errors on XP machines

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi JK,

Thank you for posting here and I'd like to provide the following info for
your reference.

First of all, will you please let me know your current Service Pack level?
Have you installed SBS SP1 or MS 05-019?

If yes, please refer to the following KB and make a call to our PSS support
to obtain the Hotfix:

Installing security update MS05-019 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1
may cause network connectivity between clients and servers to fail
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/898060

In addition, if the problem persists, please let me know:

1. Did the problem happen on all client computers?
2. After replacing 1 client computer's network cable, will the problem
persists?
3. Are you able to open OWA to access the e-mails on the client or server?
4. Are there any error info in the Event Viewer?

For the store.exe and w3wp.exe memory problem, I'd like to provide the
following info for your reference:

Store.exe will take as much memory as possible to provide better service
for Exchange. However, when other processes need memory, it will
automatically release memory for these processes. w3wp.exe will also take
high memory usage and this should be a normal behavior. For now, please
check whether the server has any performance issues (such as application
hang or service no response). If yes, we can consider it as a performance
issue and continue troubleshooting the problem.

I hope the above info helps.

If you have any update, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Regards,

Bill Peng
