RE: Client out of synch..

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi MarioMichela,

Thank you for the post.

As for your error 1:

Based on my experience, if the DNS setting on the client computer is set
incorrectly, this issue will occur.

I suggest you check the following:

I. Change the DNS settings:
1. Go to property page of your local connection.
2. Go to TCP/IP settings and make sure that the DNS IP Address is your
DC''s or your local DNS server''s IP address.

Restart the Windows XP computer and see if the issue is resolved.

II. When did the problem start to happen? Are there any changes made to the
client computer recently?

It is reported that the recent security update 835732 might cause slow
logon issues on some Windows XP computers.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-011.mspx

Please uninstall the 835732 update from Add/Remove programs and see if the
problem can be resolved.

III. If the issue still exists, please apply the steps in following article
on the Windows XP computer:

244474 How to Force Kerberos to Use TCP Instead of UDP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=244474

If the issue still occurs, please help me collect the following information:

1. Does this issue happen on all client workstations?

2. If the issue only happens for on workstation, please run "ipconfig /all"
on this workstation and on other workstation, compare the difference.

3. If you leave the client PC from the domain and then join it to the SBS
domain use the connectcomputer again, are there any help?

4. To avoid any affect from third party software, please perform a clean
boot of the XP client, and then check if there is any change.

To perform a clean boot, follow the steps below:

A. Click Start, click Run, type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks)
and click OK.
B. Select "Selective Startup" and remove the check box for "Load Startup
Items".
C. On the "Services" tab, click Enable All.
D. Check "Hide all Microsoft Services", click Disable All and clear "Hide
all Microsoft Services".
E. Click the OK button and then Click Yes to restart your computer.
F. Try again.

Meanwhile, the error 3 may also related to this.

As for your error 2:

I would like to confirm that the error source is ati2mtag. If it is, the
error may be cause by the driver graphic device. Please install the last
driver for it and you may also need to contact the support of the graphic
device vendor for more assistance.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to let me know. I am glad
to be of assistance.

Best regards,

Jerry Zhao (MSFT)
