You can ask that clients not tinker with the server, but do they ever listen? NO.
I have a client where the owner demanded to know the Admin password for the
server. They have a laptop that was running fine with SBS 2003 and they
wanted to push Outlook 2003 from SBS to the laptop and they ventured along
without calling me.
OL 2003 wouldn't install after assigning the app to the computer, so... they
decided to delete the computer from Server Management and recreate it in an
attempt to get OL 2003 on there. Now the laptop will not logon onto the
Domnain at all saying that it is not recognized etc. The properties of the
computer do not see a OS (which is XP Pro SP2) and there is no DNS Name
either.
How can I get this laptop back in working order with SBS as it was? I am
out of ideas and search the KB to death.
Cheers!
