Here are some of the answers:
1 Any changes- not sure what time we started having trouble- don't use OWA
much. I did install WSUS on 7/4, but haven't got it completely configured. I
don't know if the problem was there before that or not. I remember seeing the
error that the system could not find the path specified at times in the past,
but don't remember exactly when. (We were having to work out SBS/firewall
hardware appliance issues)
Also, this was an upgrade from SBS 2000 done on 6/5.
2. Event logs- don't know if they are related or not:
Everymorning when I start my computer:
jmestep@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx failed an operation on folder
/O=XTPAINTBALL/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE
GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=_O=XTPAINTBALL_CN=ADDRLISTE5E10DFE40076757B0F7C0B50803F8F1000008
on database "First Storage Group\Public Folder Store (HECTOR)" because the
user did not have the following access rights:
'Delete' 'Read Property' 'Write Property' 'Create Message' 'View Item'
'Create Subfolder' 'Write Security Descriptor' 'Write Owner' 'Read Security
Descriptor' 'Contact'
The entry ID of the folder is in the data section of this event.
For more information, click
--------------------------------------
Some of these around 2 am when no one is logged on:
Disabled user /o=XTPAINTBALL/ou=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE
GROUP/cn=RECIPIENTS/cn=APRIL does not have a master account SID. Please use
Active Directory MMC to set an active account as this user's master account.
I thought I had seen a log written every time I ran the EICW, but I can't
find those now.
3. Screen shot- can't get it to paste into here (I'm using your web news
reader)
When default website is expanded, \Exadmin \Exchange and \Public all show
similar to this in the path column:
\\.\BackOfficeStorage\anything-xtreme.com\Public Folders
and in the status column, System cannot find the path specified. If I click
on them, nothing shows in the right pane.
4. OWA is enabled for users-enabled using protocol defaults
5 & 6. I can open OWA using http://localhost/exchange, but can't log in
using Administrator or anyone else
8. I don't know on the Exchange SP1- we did the upgrade from the program
disks and don't know if it was included. I don't remember doing any other SPs
and I've got SBS SP1 but haven't installed yet. How can I tell if I'm using
Exchange SP1- I've looked and can't find.
9. I DISABLED FORMS BASED AUTHENTICATION AND IT WORKS INTERNALLY NOW.
Where should I go from here and it what order?
If SP1 is not installed, install it.
Do the 831464 Fix
