Hello Peretz,
Thank you for posting in the SBS newsgroup.
According to your description, I understand that you would like to route
the inbound fax to email. If I have misunderstood your concern, please
don't hesitate to let me know.
To configure fax device to route the inbound fax to email, please perform
the below steps:
1. Open the Server Management Console on the SBS Server, expand to
Standard Management -> Fax (Local).
2. On the right pane, click Configure Fax Services,
3. On the Fax Configuration Wizard, click Next.
4. On the Inbound Fax Routing Configuration page, enable Route through
e-mail, Type an e-mail address in the format alias@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
The wizard automatically configures the fax service to be Exchange aware by:
- Enabling Use these SMTP settings for the Route Through E-Mail incoming
routing method.
- Setting the From e-mail address to SBSFaxService@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
- Setting the Server address to the name of the Exchange server (which is
also the name of the Small Business Server computer).
If you receive e-mail delivery notification, and incoming faxes are not
routed to a mailbox, please refer to the below information to troubleshoot
this issue:
1. Verify Enable SMTP e-mail receipts delivery and Use these SMTP
settings for the Route Through E-Mail incoming routing method are enabled
(checked).
2. Verify Route through e-mail incoming method is enabled, and the
mailbox to receive the incoming faxes has a valid e-mail address.
3. Verify the Exchange Sever can send and receive e-mail.
4. Re-register fxsroute.dll (regsvr32 fxsroute.dll). To do so, please
refer to the below steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click
OK.
b. At the MS-DOS prompt, type cd c:\windows\system32, and then press
ENTER.
c. At the next prompt, type regsvr32 fxsroute.dll, and then press
ENTER.
d. After you receive the following message, type exit at the prompt,
and then press ENTER:
Dll register server in fxsroute.dll succeeded.
e. Restart your computer.
I am appreciated your time and cooperation. If anything is unclear, please
feel free to let me know. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Nathan Liu (MSFT)
