I was having this same problem and couldn't figure out what the POP3
connector reported that it recieved mail but couldn't route it. It took my
hours of dinking with the thing before I got it to work.
In my experience the "default" mail address has under "email address" tab in
the user container has to be set to the one that is the domain hosted by the
SBS server that you created during setup. For example when creating your
domain you may have called it somthing like mybusiness.local as opposed to
your "real" domain of mybusiness.com. If your unsure look in the Active
Directory Users/Computer app, it will list the domain as one of the
containers with the proper postfix. I check mail from several diffent domains
and as long as I have the default address set at the mybusiness.local they
all seem to work.
After I but my mail to come in correctly I notied that when I sent mail out
it used the wrong return address. After looking at this more I found that it
doesn't seem to matter if addresses other then the user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is
listed under the "email address" tab in the user container. The key point
seemed be that you have to have the real address listed in the "E-Mail" blank
under the "General" tab. The address listed there seems to be the one that
exchange picks up to use as the return address on outbound e-mail. Just
change that field as you need (wait for active directory replication) log out
of outlook and back in and send a test message to an outside account to
ensure it took.
