SBS 2003 with Adaptec 1200A RAID

Hi
I intend to upgrade a small server (10 CAL) running SBS 4.5 to SBS2003 by
breaking the drive mirror and installing a new SBS 2003 on one drive. The
other drive will be used for data transfer and will be kept intact until the
SBS2003 installation has been proven OK. The mirror will then be re-created.
Mail will be backed up locally to .pst and restored after the upgrade.
The server's Adaptec 1200A ATA RAID controller card was purchased only 2
years ago and is still a current shipping product. However, Adaptec won't
talk to me about it and they don't seem to support 2003 Server although
there is a XP driver. Anyone like to comment about the method of the upgrade
and whether they know of a driver (or if the XP driver can be used on WIN
2003). Also, I'm uncertain whether or not Adaptec's RAID controller has a
proprietary data format or if the drives, once removed from the controller,
are readable by a standard IDE/ATA controller.
