RE: Additional config needed?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Bryan,

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.

Based on my knowledge, if the Windows 2K3 computer is a second DC or member
server of the SBS 2003 domain, we can use the DFS to replicate the files.
To do this, you can create a domain root on the SBS 2003 server, enable DFS
on the W2K3 server and then setup DFS root replica between two servers. For
detailed information, please refer to the following links:

| We've been running a SBS 2003 box as a DC for a year now, with 3 other
| servers participating as member servers. The SBS has been configured
with a
| domain-based DFS root. I just dcpromoed one of the member servers
running
| Server 2003 to be an additional DC on our SBS 2003 network. Do I need to
| configure anything on the new DC so that it will provide DFS referrals if
my
| SBS is offline, or does this happen automatically through active directory
| replication?
|
| Thanks in advance,
|
| Bryan
