user with different (FQD) domain cannot send email

Gidday to all,
I have the following situation.
Two offices different domain names both interstate both hosting email with isp
One office has sbs 2003 and domaina.com.au the other peer-to-peer
domainb.com.au
My only concern is the office with sbs. One of the employees of the
interstate office works here. He has two email addresses
employee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and employee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx In fact his email sent
to employee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx is forwarded at the isp to his domaina.com.au
address and as such this is the only account we pop (via pop connector) this
employee wishes his primary email address to be that of his main office
employee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx as opposed to the other employees which have
employee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
So I added the employee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and set it as the primary email
address in AD via server management (unticked auto update box). However
whilst the employee can receive email he does not appear to be able to send
(we are using dns to send) as all email initiated by this user appear to get
stuck the message queue. Forcing the emails or rebooting the server sends
them but they do not get sent of their own accord.
I have not added the @domainb.com.au to the default recipient policy, as
this server is not responsible for all email as the employee must be able to
send mail to his head office.
I am missing something would appreciate any help pointing me in the right
direction.
Thanks
Philip
