Out of Office and POP3 connector

Does the Out of Office reply work with the POP3 connector?

I have tested it for a client, and internally it replied OK, but from the
outside no out of office reply was sent.

The site has a dynamic IP address so I have configure SBS2003 to collect
mail and dump it in the users mailbox.

Any help appreciated.
