Cant ping from second NIC

Have just installed a second NIC on SBSServer2003, and assigned a manual IP
address on a different subnet to the first NIC. Trouble is I can't ping
anything from the second NIC, nor can I ping it from elsewhere on the
network. Can put workstations etc on the same subnet and have no trouble
pinging to and from them. Have run the Internet Connection Wizard and
disabled the firewall to see if this solved the problem, but to no avail. Can
anyone assist me in this problem ?
