The app log is full of these errors:
http://msmvps.com/bradley/archive/2004/03/27/4292.aspx
I've done what it says in this page as well as what is here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=840685
When I try to start the MSSQL$SHAREPOINT serice, I immediatly get this
window:
"The MSSQL$SHAREPOINT service on the local computer started and then
stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have work to do, for
example logs and ...."
Since this system did not have SP installed, I thought I'd install that and
hopefuly fix it.....
I followed the procudure..downloaded all the fixes and installed Windows SP1
(not sbssp1)...
It seemed to go through the entire install correctly, but at the very end it
said something like:
AN error occured updating your system, SP1 will be uninstalled... and so it
uninstalls the SP..
In the log, I get this error:
ID 4374
Installation failed, leaving Windows Server 2003 partially updated. SP1
installation did not complete
(I can find no further info about this..)
Eventually, I completed the installation of all the other updates needed-
including SBS SP1....as a side note, when I tried to install the WSS update,
it told me that update was already installed...... But I didn't install
it....
Then I went back and tried again to install the W2K3 SP1.. again it failed
with the same errors
In system prooerties, it does NOT show it as having SP1 installed.....
Any ideas?
