Re: custom local web opening to server default page

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Charles

I have checked the host header and it is registered on DNS records. I
checked the http://testweb site (without the default.aspx page name) to see
if it would load from the server and it did. I also used just testweb in the
address bar (on the server) and the web site loaded correctly. I do have SSL
enabled on this site as I am using it in place of the http://companyweb . I
need SSL enabled to allow access to the site from RWW on the outside of my
network. This configuration worked for around four months but I don't know
just what changed. It seems to be with just the http://testweb site since I
have another site along with the http://companyweb site that will load
without adding the default.aspx page name. They will both also load with
typing their respective names without htp:// at the front. I did try
removing the DNS record of the testweb site and adding it back but that
didn't resolve the problem. The Hosts files on the workstations and the
server look to be the default Windows files since there are no added entries
in them. It seems I'm running out of places to investigate!! Any other
suggestions are welcome.

Thanks
Jeff
