Personally I'd just upgrade to Pro from inside XP Home, less hassle and
takes less time. I do it all the time with Dells, Compaqs, eMachines, etc.
Some PC brands are such a pain in the neck with such a lot of extra bundled
software that I prefer to start from fresh than take the risk of it messing
something up in Pro (the one that sounds a bit like "trackard nell" is a pet
hate). In terms of recovery, you can usually just repair install using the
XP Pro disk, but you may need to use drivers from your Dell CDROMs.
That's just my opinion - others may have different experiences!
