RE: Housekeeping

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Dave,

Welcome to our SBS newsgroup.

According to your description, I understand that you want to know if you
can delete the folder with odd name after installing the SBS SP1.

Generally speaking, when install the SBS SP1, the SBS will extract the file
to a temp folder and then install the SP1 from the temp folder. By default
the temp folder will be put in %temp%. If these folders are put inside the
temp folder, you can delete them. Before you delete the folder please also
make sure that you have installed the SBS 2003 SP1 successfully. You can
check the following log file to see if there are any errors relate to SBS
SP1 installation:

Errorlog.txt: this file is located at c:\sbsreport or C:\Program
files\Microsoft Integration\Windows Small Business Server 2003\logs, if you
can not find this file this also prove your installation of SP1 is
successful.

As your convenience, I would like to give you some additional information
relate to SBS SP1 installation it might help you understand the process of
SBS SP1 installation more clearly:
