Re: Small Businees Server 2003

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I have not seen a Celeron since the one's that were basically PIII's 1ghz
when they took the PIII's and seperated them into "server" vs. "desktop"
(basically the server could run dual, the desktop version wouldn't) that
performed well at all. The hit they take for the lack of cache is just not
worth the saving. I'd rather run my PIII 1GHz and 1.13Ghz than any Celeron
I've sat in front of. In fact I've got Win2003, Exchange 2003, Sharepoint
all running on a WinXP box inside a Virtual PC on a PIII 1Ghz and I bet it
can hang with any Celeron doing the same setup.

However memory is king and that's a fact when it comes to SBS and with just
512Mb if his users have some big Exchange folders I bet his HD are banging
away trying to file swap.
