Frank,
Will Paragon Disk Manager work if you are expanding an SBS 2003 BOOT
partition?
I ask because every package (well, every reasonably-priced package) I looked
at would expand any type of partition except a boot partition, and so I used
MS's laborious (but free) technique of creating an unattend file on the boot
drive, and then upgrade while expanding the partition.
I had an SBS 2000 network that I upgraded to SBS 2003, and the only way I
could find to expand the boot partition was to create adjacent space off the
end of the boot drive and then follow the instructions in this Q article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;325857
It was a lot of time, and a lot of work. If I could buy something
off-the-shelf that would automagically expand the boot partition, that would
be great! And if the boot partition can be expanded, what version of
Partition Manager did you use to do this? Professional? Technical?
I inherited another SBS 2000 install on a Dell server that is hived off into
a 10 Gb boot partition that I would like to expand when I upgrade it next
week. I could backup/chg size/install/restore, or create space off end/MS
upgrade, or use this package, which would be great!
