Hi,
Welcome to SBS newsgroup.
According to your description, I understand that you want to change the
default mail clients from exchange to ISP on client via logon script. If I
am off base, please let me know.
Before we go any further, can I assume that you want to use the ISP' email
as the primary email address on clients' email profiles?
Generally speaking, this is the by design issue, when you configure the
Exchange account on clients computer on SBS domain, the Exchange account
will be the primary account. In SBS 2003, each user created via the Add
User wizard is assigned a logon script SBS_LOGIN_SCRIPT.bat. The SBS logon
script will call Application Launcher (Program Files\Microsoft Windows
Small Business Server\ClientSetup\Clients\Setup\applnch.exe). And AppLucher
will adjust the Outlook transport order to set Exchange as the default type.
If you still want to the ISP account to be the primary account, you can try
the two methods below; we recommend use the method 2:
1. Stop the logon script running for the user account you use. You don't
have to delete the logon script, simply go to Active Directory Users and
Computer, open the Properties of the account and remove
SBS_LOGIN_SCRIPT.bat from the Profile tab.
2. At the client, create the following registry value:
Location: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SmallBusinessServer\ClientSetup
Name: NoTransportOrder
Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1
Hope the above information helpful, if you have any further concerns,
please let me know. I am happy to be any updates.
Best regards,
Charles Yang (MSFT)
