That should work fine.
Dont worry too much about the inticacies - contact domain hosting comany and
say I want mail for my domain sent to this IP please (your IP)
Your assumptions on how DNS should be setup are correct but its someone
elses job to do - will not effect current web space stuff
Setup the local exchange using CEICW to the actual internet domain name and
tell exchange you are using SMTP only
Make sure any external routers you have are routing PORT 25 to the local IP
of your exchange server (if using 2 nics etc. wizard should sort this side
for you)
