Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

As some of you might remember I have been SLOWLY getting a network up and
running basically to allow external sites access to QuickBook Enterprise via
TS. Due to some weird setup with the ISP I had to put a cheap router between
the cable modem and the server to allow everyone to connect to the internet
(I pasted the last post of that discussion below). I finally got a static IP
address available at that site and I get to go set it up tonight.

Here is the question. By looking at the info below, do you think that I can
do away with the router between the modem and the external NIC of the
server?

Oh yeah, One other question. Is it the A record that I need to point to my
new static IP address?

It is a SBS Basic server with 2 NIC configuration. 5 WS running XP Pro. BTW,
Adelphia's techs say they do not use PPoE.

Thank you very much in advance.

Bobo.

Hi Bobo,

Are you using PPPoE for that broadband? You are having the
ironoh.adelphia.net dns suffix in the network config, and that is the
culprit. Buy yourself a cheap router and put that between the external nic
and the ADSL modem.
