Activesync fails on LAN

Funny one this. Just moved to 2 NIC set up prior to going to SP1 next week.
Want to ensure everything works properly before upgrading but have two
issues. This one is that I get error INTERNET_31 when trying to sync to a PC
with USB. This affects all PDAs. This would normally point to an issue with
the certificate.
When connecting by WIFI, I get error INTERNET_29 when trying to sync with
the server. This would normally point to an issue with the certificate.
When connecting to the server by bluetooth modem on phone, Activesync works
perfectly. This means there obviously isn't a problem with the certificate!
Any ideas gratefully received.
