My main client is asking me to start tracking assets (each computer,
monitor, printer, etc). Right now, they have 25 computers and will be
expanding.

Naturally, being the tech-head that I am, I'd like to automate the
process. Do any of you guys do such things for your clients? I'm
thinking if I do it properly, I can extend it to other clients as well
(I do build about 25 whiteboxes yearly).

I was thinking of some type of bar code setup with a reader that can
communicate with my PDA so I can track repairs in the field. I'd
appreciate any input anyone has on this... software, portability,
gotchas, etc.
